Glenn Beck Finally Gets Around To Denouncing Bruce Springsteen

There are Becks all over the place - on the barstool next to you, 2 seats down the pew, in the front office at your daughter's school... they're like dirt; you don't even start seeing them until they become clods - then it's too late.

What it comes down to for me about Beck is trying to fathom why a man would do this to himself - send himself so far away from God..

Rev. Jim Wallis: Glenn Beck Is Wrong, Social Justice Is At The Heart Of Gospel (VIDEO)

Can you smell it? I can. It's 1935, and they're out there, in the street, pacing and posing, waiting for that guy to show up with just the right words; just the right anger, and just what the crowd wants - permission to bring hell to earth

I think it is just that bleak, and we are just that close.

Texas Education Board Approves Conservative Curriculum Changes By Far-Right

No sense is right - but it is true and it is huge. This is nation changing stuff and these are fascists fooling around with our children's future. Drag 'em out of their homes and send them packing.

Oh yeah, and Texas can secede and I'll drive them to the state line, no problem.

Texas Education Board Approves Conservative Curriculum Changes By Far-Right

This is almost the worst thing I've ever heard. Texas clowns gaming the facts, teaching lies, calling up down, all in the name of pushing conservative ignorance onto the pages of the books all our children will use for their education.

This cannot pass. This is why I like being retired - I've got the time to join those who will war these throwbacks to the ground. You futz around with my family's kids and I become an army on the move toward you. Word.

LovelyButton, Lone Conan Twitter Followee, Says Life Has Become 'Totally Nuts'

Yup. Conan has just put a down payment on the pooch.

There's a couple of ways this can go, but for his sake Conan can't let anything bad happen to this girl and her mate as a result of all of this. I hope he knows this, or the pooch is screwed.

While Jon Kyl Assails The Unemployed, They Work Hard To Get Jobs

While Jon Kyl Assails The Unemployed, They Work Hard To Get Jobs: "Maybe we'd figure out what's really going on if reporters actually covered these sorts of events instead of just writing down whatever Jon Kyl says and pretending it makes sense."

Patrick Kennedy: Press Corps Is 'Despicable' For Not Covering Afghanistan War Resolution

Good for Patrick. I agree with his fierce anger at a media that will show up to see Paris Hilton's inner thigh, but is nowhere to be seen when unemployed men and women are marching off to the job that's available - war.

Stop the Bleeding Heart

Bart Stupak will be a hated man, and he doesn't care. He might actually be responsible for a moral fault that will ruin his soul - it can't be known, but it certainly is true that he is playing hardball with the soft center of our lives, which belongs not to him, or to a theory, but to all the workers and all the worshipers of the land. He should move carefully, with a heavy heart and eyes open, and join the resolution to stop the bleeding.

Nancy Pelosi: Massa Is 'A Very Sick Person' (VIDEO)

yes, it was sarcasm. I have a particular disgust for America's current headlong rush to embrace an anti-intellectual era.

Nancy Pelosi: Massa Is 'A Very Sick Person'

Sarcastic oh yeah. I have a personal tick about seeing fellow American citizens flaunting their ignorance, belittling intellectual pursuits, and generally enjoying being seen as slugs with shoes and whose interest in information is limited to finding out if they won the lottery.

Another Blonde Loves Dean Ornish

Dean Ornish cannot be stopped. He's been in wack-a-mole mode for years, appearing wherever diets are tested or discussed. Much information points to his ideas being somewhat, but not extraordinarily, good, yet people want to flock to his view because it sounds like it makes sense - yukky dead flesh, bad; foliage, way good.

Okay, we all get it, but don't assume the visionary position quite yet.

There are good, competing views. I ground them all up and ended up with this: eat good fats, lots of 'em, eat vegetables that are still in their fiber-filled skins; and avoid sugar like it's Hitler.

Oh, and drink good wine.

New Developments in Philadelphia (MacBook) Webcam Incident - Webcam remote activation feature being disabled as investigation continues - Softpedia: "For those not very familiar with the respective incident, officials at the Harriton High School in Rosemont were said to have remotely activated the webcam on a student's computer last year because the District believed the respective student “was engaged in improper behavior in his home.” The incident only hit the wires when Michael E. and Holly S. Robbins, of Penn Valley, filed a suit on behalf of their son, Blake, seeking class action status for it."

Palin Crossed Border For Canadian Health Care

Palin Crossed Border For Canadian Health Care

Palin Crossed Border For Canadian Health Care: "Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin -- who has gone to great lengths to hype the supposed dangers of a big government takeover of American health care -- admitted over the weekend that she used to get her treatment in Canada's single-payer system.
'We used to hustle over the border for health care we received in Canada,' Palin said in her first Canadian appearance since stepping down as governor of Alaska. 'And I think now, isn't that ironic?'"

The hypocrisy just slides by like a small iceberg - maybe she should wave at it, or buy it a drink.

Exclusive: RNC document mocks donors, plays on 'fear' - Ben Smith - POLITICO.com

Exclusive: RNC document mocks donors, plays on 'fear' - Ben Smith - POLITICO.com: "The most unusual section of the presentation is a set of six slides headed “RNC Marketing 101.” The presentation divides fundraising into two traditional categories, direct marketing and major donors, and lays out the details of how to approach each group.
The small donors who are the targets of direct marketing are described under the heading “Visceral Giving.” Their motivations are listed as “fear;” “Extreme negative feelings toward existing Administration;” and “Reactionary.”
Major donors, by contrast, are treated in a column headed “Calculated Giving.”
Their motivations include: “Peer to Peer Pressure”; “access”; and “Ego-Driven.”
The slide also allows that donors may have more honorable motives, including “Patriotic Duty.”"
