I am not Hagel; I have never been Hagel

I can't kick this feeling that one should be careful; you don't know where it's been:

"'The Republican Party has won two elections on the issue of fear and terrorism,' Senator Chuck Hagel said. 'It's going to try again.'"

I agree, but why is he putting a cork in it and skipping out.
