The new America - "brought to you by Carl's Junior" - has no truck with the art of music, or the art of anything beyond the design of next years Bentley. Americans are foolishly and dangerously giving away something they don't own; something bequeathed to human beings long ago by the artist that built us so we could hear the music, and sing the words.
Jefferson knew the danger of copyright run amuck, but greed made us listen to Sonny Bono instead, and now the sounds of our earth, and our life, belong to others.
