Dobbs Has the Conch

Dobbs Is "Flat Out Wrong" On Almost Everything: Dobbs is a major egotistical know-nothing. The result of his thinking is unsane rants only made compelling by a simple twist of fate - his voice. With it he has something he can sell, and has sold, to those who mistake a shadow for a reality.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but Dobbs is an enemy of all that I want in a culture.

But wait - maybe it's not Lou's fault; maybe somebody's controlling his mind, so actually, let's do put a fine point on it:

There they all were; all those little boys, running across the sand, all joyful and hungry for their youth. All except one. The butter boy; the one who began to whine at the first hint of dawn, and fell to tears as the other boys scattered away to avoid his constant and boorish complaints. They all knew not to give him the conch; not to deny him the right to speak, but to save themselves the pain of hearing the result of his thinking.

They called him Dobbs. Lord of the Lou.
