GOP Climate Change Deniers Running For House Energy Committee

I'm a caustic numpty, sorry, but let me just mention this. I am a fan of Roman history - a fanatic might be closer - and decades ago I was studying information on core samples from the northern European glaciers, in which was info about the industrial/societal emissions of the Roman era, the medieval era, so on, and - though this was not my mission - I couldn't help but see the changes through subsequent centuries. What was startling to me was the incredible increase in industrial emissions beginning in the early 1800s and escalating to huge levels (the curve was frightening!). There was no comment about the meaning of this information in the material I was reading, and I believe these samples only went up to about 1955(?), but the data was staggering and I couldn't help but wonder how long the world could take this onslaught of waste without a plan to deal with it. It'd be great if the "the last sane american" wasn't also the last earthling.
