The Era of Giant Chain Stores Is Over -- And They've Ruined America

I suspect you're more informed than I am on this topic, but in my view there still is the phenomenon of the disappearing mega stores - Circuit City, GoodGuys, etc - not being replaced by other mega stores. Where I live, when RadioShack goes out, I suspect that there will be a local business to take up the slack. This sounds good, but I do understand your point that scaling is in favor of the biggies and they might yet form a new chain to absorb the recent adverse trends.
