I'll go first by saying that I personally think it's too ridiculous a question to try to answer, especially since the question itself is most often not sincere, but rather a sweaty defense against the fearful possibilit­y of a competing mindset. In short, most people are terrified of the 'idea' of art; believing it to be dangerous, and - often with good reason - fearing its power.
