John Kasich Parkinson's Imitation Marks Ad Hoc Speech That Veered Off The Rails


...well, since you asked, here's one of my favorite Kasich bites. During the final moments of the budget showdown of 1996, when it became certain that Gingrich had created a grand, colossally stunning political defeat for his party, Kasich, Chairman of the House Budget Committee, was interviewe­d for television by Margaret Warner during which he went into a dizzying, fantastic, riveting emotional outpouring of heart-felt sentiment and deep-dish republican mourning - his pain thickening as he seemed to become a pure, ancient republican man; come to life with an eon of longing and pent-up hope, now suddenly dashed yet again by the 'enemies' of the one true path to liberty.



I recall that Margaret Warner seemed to sense that his emotional state was ruling his thoughts, and she just let him go on without any interrupti­on - I found it sincere and one of the most dramatic and spellbindi­ng interviews ever.
