Facebook Faces Possible Censorship In India


The Indian government desperatel­y wants the internet companies to do the heavy lifting - knowing full well that if the government steps in and shuts down Facebook or Twitter or other social sites, then Indian politician­s are gonna cringe and worry for their future.



The president of the Internet Service Providers Associatio­n of India, who said "I am not favoring censorship – self-regul­ation is the best censorship available to our system," believes in a contradict­ion; which is fine - but it should be labeled as such so that something meaningful can be discussed.



We're in the infancy of the internet, and for the next few precious moments in history, human beings have access to the truth - but soon it will all be labeled a lie and removed from our grasp; much like religion, mathematic­s, and science. Power cannot accept other power.
