The founders also generally understood that the Constitution is inevitably a flexible device - designed for renewal and expected to grow along with reality - or it is a piece of paper. The fact that righties can always scrounge up naysayers means nothing - the facts still exist, and humanity staggers forward, furiously rewriting - as great authors do.
