I totally agree with your comments. This is a follow-the-dots, moths-to-flames scenario - the new laws lead people into situations where the gun absolutely 'must' be used.
Maybe it's a cynical push by the 1% to cut the costs of keeping a lid on all us serfs - policing is cheaper when terror does half the work.
