Aaron Swartz's Father: MIT Put 'Institutional Concerns Ahead Of Compassion'


Something's happening here, and to you it's not exactly clear...



If you want to discuss, then we'd better go into a large room and spread out all the facts, because there is far more going on than you suggest - and, complicated further by the fact that the "trove" of info under discussion is now being made available to the public without restriction.



This is a big topic - even larger than music downloading, and certainly larger than simply the ownership of our own insividual sequences of words found by us - like all of them, in dictionairies that anyone can own.



Locking up knowledge and making it available only to those with money strikes a lot of humanity as anathema. Something different has to happen, and Swartz was fixated on that imperative.
