I don't know if he blew it or not - timing is a 3D chess game these days - but we definitely need more tax participation from higher incomes than Obama got. If he's got a path from here that can lead us back to a proven progressive taxing scheme that we all know worked well before, it isn't visible in the bleak mist ahead...
