Bush Snow Job
"Senator Kerry not only owes an apology to those who are serving, but also to the families of those who've given their lives in this,' White House press secretary Tony Snow said. 'This is an absolute insult.' ...
...'This is the classic GOP playbook,' Kerry said in a harshly worded statement. 'I'm sick and tired of these despicable Republican attacks that always seem to come from those who never can be found to serve in war, but love to attack those who did. I'm not going to be lectured by a stuffed suit White House mouthpiece standing behind a podium.'"
Kerry is a lame-ass, but a better American than any Republican.

Crime at the Polls
That's exactly the kind of problem that sends conspiracy theorists into high gear -- especially in South Florida, where a history of problems at the polls have made voters particularly skittish.
A poll worker then helped Rudolf, but it took three tries to get it right, Reed said."
...unbelievable...
"Broward Supervisor of Elections spokeswoman Mary Cooney said it's not uncommon for screens on heavily used machines to slip out of sync, making votes register incorrectly. Poll workers are trained to recalibrate them on the spot -- essentially, to realign the video screen with the electronics inside. The 15-step process is outlined in the poll-workers manual.
''It is resolved right there at the early-voting site,'' Cooney said.
Broward poll workers keep a log of all maintenance done on machines at each site. But the Supervisor of Elections office doesn't see that log until the early voting period ends. And a machine isn't taken out of service unless the poll clerk decides it's a chronic poor performer that can't be fixed.
Cooney said no machines have been removed during early voting, and she is not aware of any serious problems."
Mary Cooney doesn't think that there are problems?
This is an outrage! A fucking outrage that at this point in time - after 'chads' and recounts, we are still seeing citizens cheated out of their vote. The GOP is a criminal cabal and needs to be stopped at all costs.
Republicans Still Can't Find 380 Tons of Powerful Explosives
The huge facility, called Al Qaqaa, was supposed to be under American military control but is now a no man's land, still picked over by looters as recently as Sunday. United Nations weapons inspectors had monitored the explosives for many years, but White House and Pentagon officials acknowledge that the explosives vanished sometime after the American-led invasion last year.
The White House said President Bush's national security adviser, Condoleezza Rice, was informed within the past month that the explosives were missing."
You can tell Rice that her shoes are on fire and she'll do nothing about it. She has no ideas and has no plans. She reads the sheet music and plays her part.
Lynne Cheney Is A Trolls Mol
"'Jim Webb is full of baloney. I have never written anything sexually explicit.'
The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee sent out a news release listing sexual passages in books by Cheney and other GOP conservatives, including Dick Cheney's former chief of staff I. Lewis 'Scooter' Libby and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.
The DSCC said Cheney's books featured brothels and attempted rape.
Though asked by CNN, Cheney did not discuss the imagery included in 'Sisters.'"

"Cheney Has No Opposable Thumbs," say GOP scientists
Human Rights Watch said Cheney's remarks were 'the Bush administration's first clear endorsement' of water boarding."
To see America go down this GOP drain is almost unbearable.
The President's Nuts
She's too clever and bright to dismiss her comments lightly.
Get Thee To A Cybil
"...abortion is still legal. You know why? There would never be another Republican elected to the White House again if they made abortion illegal. People would then have to vote in their own best interest instead of following their asinine religious beliefs. " - Cymbaline, Oct 2006
'Cymbaline' is the online moniker of Lisa Rios, a lady of much character, who will remind you, without doubt, that the last 30 years did actually happen. There are values that were found, nurtured and revered all through the western world during that time and they live - healthfully and without compromise, in the best of us.

"Every nudnik out there aspires to be a junior bin Laden. What was needed -- but which may now be impossible -- was to gain the trust of people worldwide at the local level. So that on small islands in Indonesia, let's say, neighbors will turn in the stranger who's gathering followers around him. Without that cooperation, we're never going to defeat world terrorism."
Really interesting thinking.

Cheney Takes Another Salt-embedded Bite Out Of America
Cheney indicated that the Bush administration doesn't regard water-boarding as torture and allows the CIA to use it. 'It's a no-brainer for me,' Cheney said at one point in an interview."
...local journalist licks the VP until they both sport wood...
"In the interview on Tuesday, Scott Hennen of WDAY Radio in Fargo, N.D., told Cheney that listeners had asked him to "let the vice president know that if it takes dunking a terrorist in water, we're all for it, if it saves American lives."
"Again, this debate seems a little silly given the threat we face, would you agree?" Hennen said.
"'I do agree,' Cheney replied, according to a transcript of the interview released Wednesday. 'And I think the terrorist threat, for example, with respect to our ability to interrogate high-value detainees like Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, that's been a very important tool that we've had to be able to secure the nation.'"

Rush Is Death With A Microphone
"'He is exaggerating the effects of the disease,' Limbaugh told listeners. 'He's moving all around and shaking and it's purely an act. . . . This is really shameless of Michael J. Fox."
Rush is a rotting hulk, drawing flies like shit on a sidewalk. Rush and his ilksters have no authority over anything and have nothing behind their empty ideas. On death they will neither go to heaven or hell, but will be left to rot on the sidewalk - drawing those flies.

Rush says Michael J. Fox is bullshitting
"'I stated when I saw the ad, I was commenting to you about it, that he was either off the medication or he was acting. He is an actor, after all.'"
...gee, what's the doctor say?...
"Dr. Daniel emails:
the chorea that Michael J Fox has in that ad comes from chronic use of dopamine agonists in the context of Parkinson's. They're movements from the medicine, not the disease itself. Although he might have odd movements OFF of his meds, they wouldn't look like the ones in the ad. They'd look like the Parkinson's-like presentation of Muhammed Ali's Dementia Pugilistica.
In addition, those movements are hard to imitate accurately because they stem from circuits between the basal ganglia and cortex that you can't just turn off or on. Those aren't volitional circuits. There is little chance he was acting, and if he was, he could only accentuate slightly movementse already had. In other words, this is as tragic as it looks."
Rush is proof that cowboys fuck horses.
'Killed By Wishful Thinking'
The government in Baghdad is on the verge of failure. There is no civil war - civil war would be easier to deal with. What we see in the streets is the rule of the gunmen.
We gave them Iraq. Instead of imposing the rule of law, we empowered the lawless.
Responsibility begins, of course, with the Iraqis, who have chosen old hatreds over new possibilities. The next layer of guilt encompasses the Bush administration, which lacked the guts to finish what it started. But the get-Bush-at-any-cost Americans who encouraged our enemies will have the blood of countless innocent Iraqis on their hands.
The left may get its wish: Iraq may fail. Well, congratulations. The men to whom you yearn to give Iraq will make Pol Pot look like Mr. Rogers.
The only blameless participants are our troops. Each new tombstone at Arlington National Cemetery should read: 'Killed By Wishful Thinking.'"
As with Ken Burns' 'Confederate States of America,' the Republican's plan for Iraq "died of a theory."

I Didn't Actually Mean 'Stay The Course'
"George Stephanopoulos asked about James Baker’s plan to develop a strategy for Iraq that is “between ’stay the course’ and ‘cut and run.’”
Bush responded, ‘We’ve never been stay the course, George!’"
...Oh really. Gee, what about...
"BUSH: We will stay the course. [8/30/06]
BUSH: We will stay the course, we will complete the job in Iraq. [8/4/05]
BUSH: We will stay the course until the job is done, Steve. And the temptation is to try to get the President or somebody to put a timetable on the definition of getting the job done. We’re just going to stay the course. [12/15/03]
BUSH: And my message today to those in Iraq is: We’ll stay the course. [4/13/04]
BUSH: And that’s why we’re going to stay the course in Iraq. And that’s why when we say something in Iraq, we’re going to do it. [4/16/04]
BUSH: And so we’ve got tough action in Iraq. But we will stay the course. [4/5/04]"
That about covers that.
Germany's Schroeder: Bush Is A Phoney
Schroeder accused some elements in U.S. as being hypocritical when it comes to secularism in government.
'We rightly criticize that in most Islamic states, the role of religion for society and the character of the rule of law are not clearly separated,' Schroeder wrote. 'But we fail to recognize that in the USA, the Christian fundamentalists and their interpretation of the Bible have similar tendencies.'"
For Why The Chimp Cackles
Barrons Magazine: "Our analysis -- based on a race-by-race examination of campaign-finance data -- suggests that the GOP will hang on to both chambers, at least nominally. We expect the Republican majority in the House to fall by eight seats, to 224 of the chamber's 435. At the very worst, our analysis suggests, the party's loss could be as large as 14 seats, leaving a one-seat majority. But that is still a far cry from the 20-seat loss some are predicting. In the Senate, with 100 seats, we see the GOP winding up with 52, down three."
It's Sunday October 22nd and I heard the huge political machine come to a stop - a big, deep cachunk!, then a momentary, painful silence until the hulking, cranking machinery began - incredibly, to move in the opposite direction.

Embarrassed (or should be) GOP Lawmaker Wants To Shutter CNN
Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-El Cajon) called for the Pentagon to oust any CNN reporter embedded with U.S. troops in Iraq.
'I think Americans like to think we're all in this together,' Hunter said. 'The average American Marine or soldier has concluded after seeing that film that CNN is not on their side.'
CNN said it broadcast the brief video to show the threat that insurgent snipers posed to U.S. troops.
'Whether or not you agree with us in this case, our goal, as always, is to present the unvarnished truth as best we can,' CNN producer David Doss wrote in a blog on the network's website."
"But if you see the sniper footage," says the unexamined nutcase, "you'd see Americans losing!!" I don't know about that, but it sure shows Americans hurting without halt while we at home look on as Cheney goes hunting, while Condi reads the music and plays her part, and while we carry on as best we can, unable to not watch the Chimp cacklin' as our culture floats out to sea.

Corporate/Conservative Control of California's Elections Is A Done Deal

Cheney Logs Much Dirtier Than Lincoln Logs
The Washington Post asked for two years of White House visitor logs in June but the Secret Service refused to process the request. Government attorneys called it 'a fishing expedition into the most sensitive details of the vice presidency.'
U.S. District Judge Ricardo M. Urbina ruled Wednesday that, by the end of next week, the Secret Service must produce the records or at least identity them and justify why they are being withheld."
Well that's easy. The logs are being withheld because they document that Cheney's office was a billionaire's flea market.
Shays Lounges In Bullshit
Why does rightie monster Ann Coulter call this guy a wimp? Looks like for this election he's pulling out all the stops and letting his GOP installed ideas just drool out of his mouth.
"Goblins Only Restroom" and "Giants Only Drinking Fountain"
"Social division might split humans into two sub-species 100,000 years from now, an evolution expert has claimed.
The descendants of the genetic upper class would be tall, slim, healthy, attractive, intelligent, and creative.
They would be a far cry from the 'underclass' humans, who will have evolved into dim-witted, ugly, squat goblin-like creatures."
...hmmm, fascinating. And yet, that's a big stretch of time to cross with an intact prediction. But not to worry...
"The forecast was made by Dr Oliver Curry, who spent two months investigating the ascent and descent of man over the next 100 millennia. He said that within a thousand years, humans will evolve into coffee-coloured giants between 6 and 7ft tall. But Dr Curry said centuries of sexual selection - being choosy about one's partner - was likely to create more and more genetic inequality.
The logical outcome would be two sub-species, "gracile" and "robust" humans. Dr Curry said: "Things could get ugly, with the possible emergence of genetic 'haves' and 'have-nots'."
Well, since he spent a full 2 months working up this sci-fi screenplay, the resulting airtight fact-set should be enough to get it optioned. Ya' think?

James Baker and Peter King Become an Air Tunnel
Mr Baker is leading a review of the situation in Iraq by a bipartisan US committee of experts, and is expected to recommend a change in US strategy for rebuilding Iraq."
Baker evidentally took a different bus through Baghdad than the one taken by GOP Congressman Peter King. King thinks Baghdad is a lot like Manhattan and that the media and the Democrats have been misrepresenting the situation.
As moronic King says, "As we go through the city of Baghdad, it was like being in Manhattan. I’m talking about bumper to bumper traffic. Talking about shopping centers, talking about restaurants, talking about video stores...". This is one brilliant Republican.
Bush Pals Screw The Masses
This is the slime time for the U.S.. Every brand of thug thrives within the GOP as America washes down the drain. There goes the money, there goes the greenery, there goes everybody with less than $3,000,000.00.

GOP Knows The Truth, But Sells The Lie
As first lady Laura Bush looked on, Rice singled out his partner, Jason Claire, and Claire's mother. Rice referred to her as Dybul's 'mother-in-law.'"...
..."For Republicans, the most difficult problem posed by the e-mail exchanges that former congressman Mark Foley had with pages is not necessarily the flagrant misbehavior of one member. Rather it's the fact that the investigation is exposing a politically awkward fact of life: some GOP leaders practice a more tolerant brand of politics in their office hiring than some in the party have preached on the campaign trail.
"They play somebody different on TV than they are in person," says John Aravosis, a gay blogger who used to work for Sen. Ted Stevens, R-Alaska. "

Hastert Bilge Fills Up
The staff member said Hastert's chief of staff, Scott Palmer, met with the Florida Republican at the Capitol to discuss complaints about Foley's behavior toward pages. The alleged meeting occurred long before Hastert says aides in his office dispatched Rep. John M. Shimkus (R-Ill.) and the clerk of the House in November 2005 to confront Foley about troubling e-mails he had sent to a Louisiana boy."

Correction: Republicans Are Not All On The Same Page
...and the facts have their own agenda...
"... a 26-year-old Atlanta man says Foley began sending him sexually suggestive messages and invited him to his Washington home after he served as a congressional page nine years ago. Tyson Vivyan said Foley began sending him online instant messages a month or two after his nine-month stint as a page ended in June 1997. Foley entered Congress in January 1995.
Vivyan's account appears to show the earliest exchange of suggestive messages reported so far between Foley and former pages. Vivyan said he played along at first, thinking it was someone he knew. After weeks of peppering the anonymous message sender with questions, he said he figured out who it was and refused to engage in the sexual banter that Foley tried to instigate.
'I had absolutely no sexual interest in him. He was a man twice my age,' said Vivyan, who added: 'I don't call my self gay, I don't call myself straight.'
Vivyan, who is divorced, said he found the congressman's behavior 'morally reprehensible' but tried to maintain a platonic professional relationship in which they talked about legislation and 'votes on the Hill.'"

Gone Waterboardin' with the Twins
Are our children worth less?
There's only one way to get this information. Send Foley, Hastert, Boehner, and the rest of them to Guantanamo and torture the information out of them."
Now let's tickle some real info out of these birds, Texas style, yessiree.
So You're Dead, So Fucking What
"As he heads out on the campaign trail, haunted by an unpopular war, President Bush has begun reassuring audiences that this traumatic period in Iraq will be seen as "just a comma" in the history books. By that, aides say, he means to reinforce his message of resolve in the long struggle for Iraqi democracy.
But opponents of the war have seized on the formulation, seeing it as evidence that Bush is indifferent to suffering. To them, it sounds as if the president is dismissing more than 2,700 U.S. troop deaths as 'just a comma.' And a lively Internet debate has broken out about the origins of the phrase, with some speculating that Bush means it as a coded message to religious supporters, evoking the aphorism 'Never put a period where God has put a comma.'"

Before Matt's Arrest
Matt Drudge has a closet; a walk-in closet; perhaps a drive-by closet. And that part of this story could blow so high... so high !... that you'll need a lobster bib the size of Detriot to soak up the spatter.
Hastert Says, "'There wasn't much there other than a friendly inquiry"
Hastert says neither Shimkus nor his own aides saw the 2005 e-mail, noting that it was far less sexually explicit than the electronic messages that ABC News revealed last week.
'There wasn't much there other than a friendly inquiry,' Hastert said of the 2005 message from Foley, R-Fla., described as 'sick' by the boy. The message asked for a photograph and mentioned a different teen who was in 'great shape.'"
This means that the wishes of these parents was all it took to let a dangerous, bad situation - with great potential harm to somebody else's children, go unchecked and unstopped. Good going, Republican Hastert !
The Baltimore Sun notices something different:
"The usually disciplined House Republican leadership showed signs of disarray, with Majority Whip Roy Blunt of Missouri telling reporters that he would have urged a different course of action had colleagues informed him of the page's complaint.
I think I could have given some good advice here, which is: 'You have to be curious, you have to ask all the questions you can think of,' said Blunt, who ranks third in the Republican leadership. 'You absolutely can't decide not to look into activities because one individual's parents don't want you to.'"
That's my emphasis, to point out the key fact that puts Hastert out of business.
At Least Republicans Are All On The Same Page
Another former congressional staff member said he too had been the object of Foley's advances. 'It was so well known around the House. Pages passed it along from class to class,' said the former aide, adding that when he was 18 a few years ago and working as an intern, Foley approached him at a bar near the Capitol and asked for his e-mail address."
"...Beck-Heyman, the former page, said several other male pages in his class also had been approached by Foley. "Mark Foley knew he could get away with this type of behavior with male pages because he was a congressman," he said.
Another former staffer said it was an oft-repeated story around Capitol Hill that Foley's former chief of staff, Kirk Fordham, would sometimes accompany the congressman to keep him out of trouble.
Fordham represents a link between Foley and House GOP leaders. Shortly after leaving Foley's office last year, he became chief of staff to Rep. Thomas M. Reynolds (R-N.Y.), chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee.
Reynolds has said he was told this spring about the e-mails that sparked the initial complaint about Foley.
Fordham has not responded to repeated requests for comment from The Times."
"...Matthew Loraditch, a page in the 2001-2002 class, told ABC News he and other pages were warned about Foley by a supervisor in the House Clerk's office. Loraditch, the president of the Page Alumni Association, said the pages were told "don't get too wrapped up in him being too nice to you and all that kind of stuff..."
...and yet some Young Righties feel it's their duty to lie for their leaders... "...But another page, who asked not to be named told The Palm Beach Post, 'The program in no official capacity warned us about it,' and he said that Loraditch had posted an explanation for his comments to ABC on the college social network, Facebook.com."
"Mr. Hastert insisted that he learned of the most flagrant instant-message exchange from 2003 only last Friday, when it was reported by ABC News. This is irrelevant. The original e-mail messages were warning enough that a predator -- and, incredibly, the co-chairman of the House Caucus on Missing and Exploited Children -- could be prowling the halls of Congress. The matter wasn't pursued aggressively. It was barely pursued at all. Moreover, all available evidence suggests that the Republican leadership did not share anything related to this matter with any Democrat.

Boyz In The House
GOP Congressman Foley: did you spank it this weekend yourself ?
Underage Congressional Page: no... been too tired and too busy
GOP Congressman Foley: wow... I am never too busy, haha
"Matthew Loraditch, a page in the 2001-2002 class, told ABC News he and other pages were warned about Foley by a supervisor in the House Clerk's office.
Loraditch, the president of the Page Alumni Association, said the pages were told 'don't get too wrapped up in him being too nice to you and all that kind of stuff.'"
You shouldn't be screaming about moral values while you're violating an underage boy.

GOP "No Boy's Left Behind" Slogan Pulled
The church protects its priests and the GOP protects its congressmen.
They Are Inside Your Home
It's everywhere. The evidence is overwhelming. We are being tooled by the conservatives to such an extent that we can't even see the air swirling about our bodies as we are guided by the teeth down to the level of pork - where our new destiny is to have some bacon thrown at us in the micro-moments just before we start to have a mental thought that all isn't what it's supposed to be; our world is being sold out from under us to mega-trusts owned by thin godzillionaires. And the key to the whole thing is the criminal enterprise known as the fundamentalist christian right.
Today is your recruitment day.
There Is No Justice In Ohio
Justice O’Donnell’s conduct was unexceptional. In one of the cases, every justice in the 4-to-3 majority had taken money from affiliates of the companies. None of the dissenters had done so, but they had accepted contributions from lawyers for the plaintiffs."
This is so awful that almost everything pales by comparison. Our culture is dead in the water if this is allowed to stand.
The Secret's Out !! Condi Rice Behind Most Major Screw-ups
Woodward writes that Rice was polite, but, “They felt the brushoff.”
If true, it is shocking that the administration failed to heed such an overwhelming alert from the two officials in the best position to know. Many, many questions need to be asked and answered about this revelation — questions that the 9/11 Commission would have asked, had the Commission been told about this significant meeting. Suspiciously, the Commissioners and the staff investigating the administration’s actions prior to 9/11 were never informed of the meeting. "...
"...The notion that both the 9/11 Commission and the Congressional Joint Inquiry that investigated the intelligence prior to 9/11 did not want to know about such essential information is simply absurd. At a minimum, the withholding of information about this meeting is an outrage. Very possibly, someone committed a crime. And worst of all, they failed to stop the plot."
