CNN.com - Senator seeks Democratic supportfor Social Security plan - Jun 22, 2005: "Bush and other proponents have said the accounts would help alleviate future financial strains on the Social Security system, as well as give Americans the ability to make their own investment decisions and allow them to pass the money on to heirs."

Massive piles of bullshit! Most workers receiving the basic SS benefits amount - based on a combination of private accounts plus the basic underlying SS benefit, would NOT be able to leave their unpaid-out retirement balance to their heirs. It is a bogus lie perpetuated by Republican bullshitters.

I agree with the first previous comment. If one doesn't have much income from their SS account, regardless of whether or not it is from the core Social Security benefit or from the private account, or any combined amount, then their entire retirement amount would be rolled into an anuity, which CANNOT be left to one's heirs.

Republicans should be chased across the tundra like rodents.
