U.S. Recovery Less Important Than Debt Reduction To Americans: Poll


...ok, just for you: WWII ended the depression­. Wanna know why? The war picked up the pace of public spending enormously­, providing and proving that spending on employment was the answer. The GOP of the 30s was apoplectic about spending and kept it down so much that the system could not do the hiring that the eventual war proved was the answer. Plus, Social Security moved many men off payrolls to make room for the desperate unemployed­. None of this seemed to end the full brunt of the depression - except that the results without these actions would have no doubt been even more catastroph­ic.



Of course you wouldn't believe any of this under any circumstan­ces... I'm really just using you to test a new keyboard, so don't bother answering; just enjoy the mess you and the Bushes - and Reaganomic­s - created, and spin it as best you can.
