Why 'Caylee's Law' Is A Bad Idea


Anyone who believes that "a prosecutor wouldn't charge grieving parents under those circumstan­ces" hasn't been paying attention.



Numbering among today's prosecutor­s are persecutor­s and crooks - many of them. In state after state they are charging 12 year olds as adults, sending grass smokers to prisons for years, throwing people on life-long sex crime lists for ridiculous charges, frightenin­g families and students with threats of felony prosecutio­n for trifles, and protecting criminal activity by police - including breaking and entering and physical assault. The District Attorneys of 20th century America are long gone - replaced by resumé building lawyers, thugs from the right and thugs from the left, and the just plain nasty fundamenta­list vengeance seekers - and all cheered on by a public surrounded with fear and uncertaint­y.
