In the heyday of the 60s-70s art world, I believed that if you did it for money, it was crap. That's perhaps too severe, but like a lot of that era, things were felt in the extreme, and art was there to react to it. Which still seems rather correct to me because, well, life itself is an extreme situation, don't you think?
