You seem to be saying it is a virtue to figure out "how to extract money for stuff people thought they should get for free."
But I bet you'll enjoy the cash profits from Bottled Water - and the zillions of plastic bottles floating off Hawaii.
I really don't agree with your premise, and even if I did, I'd still have zero confidence that it would not all get perverted by those to whom the bill is to be payed.
