=10-12,00 per year; rent=10-12,000 per year; daycare=5-10,000... taxes...transportation, insurance, etc... She's in Boston, not a cheap place to live, so something obviously has to give - usually healthcare insurance - and it's clear to me that there's certainly not much left for a normal life. She's taken a hit, and unlike you, she has my sympathy.
