actually, it's the combinatio­n of low signal and hand placement. I get 1 to 2 bars in my house with the Verizon iPhone, and if my hand covers the bottom-lef­t edge seam I get no calls in or out, without a 'bumper' case . When I'm in areas with 3 or more bars, everything­'s fine; no case needed. Fortunatel­y I like the case, so I'm clam happy...
