'This was the retirees' reward for many years of hard work and loyalty to their employers,' she wrote to President Bush and several senators in 2003. 'It was not a gift or an entitlement. It was an earned benefit! It was pay! These benefits should be sacrosanct!' "
Kathy, you got that exactly right. It was pay. And if they don't fork it over, they will indeed pay.
