...correct­, you obviously have nowhere near a PhD on the subject. If you study the last 2 centuries of the Roman Empire you will notice that people increasing­ly chose to abandon their property because their ability to make any money became nil - all the wealth of the empire was inside of huge estates - many of them literally stretching for miles. Eventually - due in large part to the things you listed - the Roman Government was forced to buy its armies from abroad because 'citizens' could care less about both financing and participat­ing that which was destroying them.



Some people's info-fail is such that they refuse to see any laudable engine of civilizati­on other than the pursuit of profit. That seems to be your world view as well...
