My wife and I watched 'A Single Man' - evidently the object of horror in the mind of at least one Mississippi Public Broadcasting bureaucrat - not knowing anything about it except that it was a new release from NetFlix. I defy anyone to watch the first 10 minutes of this film and not be emotionally bruised, furious and enlightened. I think it is a brilliantly crafted film, with a superb script and a remarkable performance by Colin Firth. It is definitely one of the the best movie I have seen in this century.
