"Our kids and grandkids will watch the GOP take away their safety net - worse, they'll watch us stand by and do nothing to stop it - like the great silence of the "greatest generation" when over 40,000 of their kids got drafted and killed in a useless Viet Nam war. Is this who we really are - people who will rob their own children of a secure future, substituting 'theory' and fear, wounding them - defining us down until we're hardly far enough off the dirt to be sanitary?
Wow, just imagine the honor and appreciation we'll receive as we lounge through our own retirement, explaining why the wealthy needed and deserved more and more wealth and lower and lower taxes. They'll probably have special names for us, and sing songs about us...
Someday, something's going to rise out of the babble and try to bring focus and power to the un-propertied working people of the western world - it may be long after we're gone, but I toast to their victory in advance.
