Well, Mel Gibson let a drunk anti-semite play Jesus - and zillions of Christians loved it. Now 'that's' truly bizarre and insulting. But having the great British actor Daniel Day-Lewis, who oozes mood, play the melancholic Lincoln is not offensive in the least.
