Debtor's prison is back - has been coming back for years. It is the evidence of a vanishing middle-class.
If there's a chance that I'm going to jail for defaulting on payments, then I'm not going to buy the car, or the couch, or anything else, on credit. When everyone starts thinking like that, then it all collapses for anyone not being supported by, dating, or being either Paris Hilton or some idiot issue of the Waltons.
