Texas is a big stupid musical, performed by some of the most audacious egotists ever to escape from the United States. They love their big, cringe-worthy chorus number, where fake gay people sing the praises of oil and church, and cowboys pretend not to preen as they simulate a clinic closing.
It's enough for me that half the declared Texas republicans would just as soon secede from the union - and half the people I know wouldn't mind one whit.
