well, you're sure right about some of the factual transgress­ions - it was years before I allowed myself to notice the weird, nonsensica­l shot sequence when Wilder tries to jump between cars., among other ones…

But I just remember that the movie was in 3 very exciting parts - the first part accelerate­s to its own climax, then a Mancini musical interlude; then we're introduced to a whole new character and a fantastic adventure through the (albeit fake) 'midwest'; then another sub-conclu­sion and we launch into the third, final part - with all the excitement of legendary finales. Whew! - I gotta go see this again.
